2025 GIVING & IMPACT
The Alonso Foundation works year round to aid those in need, providing funding and support to many organizations. These reports are our opportunity to look back to better understand what that support translated to in actual impact for the beneficiaries and document our legacy.
2025 & The Alonso Foundation
When we founded The Alonso Foundation, we did so with a simple but unwavering mission: to be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. Whether it is an animal in a high-kill shelter, a veteran navigating the transition back to civilian life, or a young athlete dreaming of their first home run, we believe that everyone deserves someone in their corner.
As we look back on 2025, we are overwhelmed by what we have been able to achieve together. This past year was defined by record-breaking growth and deepened impact across our three core pillars:
Animal Welfare:
This year, we partnered with shelters nationwide to fund emergency medical care, facilitate rescues from high-kill environments, and provide the supplies needed to turn shelters into temporary homes.
Veterans’ Support:
We continued our commitment to those who served by sponsoring the training of service dogs and providing critical funding for mental health services. Our focus remains on ensuring that no veteran feels forgotten and that the families of our fallen heroes have a network of support.
Youth:
This year, we worked to ensure that the next generation has a safe, inspiring place to play. In welcoming our son, we recognized the incredible expense of diapers and other baby items and spent the end of 2025 supporting local diaper banks and shelters.
While the statistics—the number of dogs saved, the dollars granted —tell part of the story, the true impact is found in the lives changed. Behind every data point is a veteran who found a new companion, a shelter that kept its doors open, and a child who felt cared for.
We invite you to dive into this 2025 Impact Report to see the direct result of your generosity. Your support is the fuel that allows us to step up to the plate every day for those who need us most.
Thank you for being part of our family and for helping us create lasting change.
With gratitude,
Haley & Pete Alonso

GIVING OVERVIEW
Animal Welfare
Building on the success of our 2024 ‘Home Run Pledge,’ 2025 marked a strategic evolution in our commitment to animal welfare. While the mission remained the same, our impact grew even deeper. This year, we moved beyond the headlines to provide $74,000 in direct grants to 26 shelters, ranging from grassroots local rescues to large-scale facilities. By diversifying our giving, we were able to address specific, urgent needs—from medical equipment to facility renovations. Furthermore, we were thrilled to continue our partnership with Brutus Broth, ensuring that shelters were stocked with high-quality biscuits and broth to nourish the animals in their care.
Our grantees included:
The shelters who received grants were overwhelmed, often saying the donation helped them keep their doors open.
“The Alonso Foundation’s support has allowed us to say ‘yes’ to dogs in desperate need from local New York City shelters — giving them safety, medical care, and the chance to experience love for the very first time.”
- Every Last One Rescue
“The Alonso Foundation’s generous Giving Tuesday gift wasn’t just a donation, it was a powerful vote of confidence in Second Chance Rescue’s trajectory, directly fueling lifesaving care and hope for the animals who need us most.”
- New York Second Chance Rescue
“The Alonso Foundation’s support over the last couple of years has helped fuel Muddy Paws Rescue’s work, allowing us to take in over 1,000 dogs per year from partner shelters in urgent need of relief. As we approach our 10-year anniversary in 2026, the Foundation’s generosity has helped move our mission forward, including making our veterinarian full-time and completing our in-house surgery suite and x-ray room, which has been transformative for the dogs in our care.”
- Muddy Paws Rescue
“Grateful for the ongoing support from the Alonso Foundation which allows us to be champions for homeless animals nationwide. We appreciate Pete and Haley helping shine a light on the importance of animal rescue and adoption. We were thrilled to take part in the Movie Night at The Park night where guests shared precious moments with our adoptable animals.”

GIVING OVERVIEW
Veterans Support
Our commitment to those who served remains a cornerstone of our mission. In 2025, we were honored to deepen our ties with the veteran community, forging strategic partnerships with a diverse range of organizations dedicated to those who have sacrificed for our country. By providing targeted support to these groups, we’ve helped amplify their efforts.
Our grantees included:
“The Alonso Foundation’s generosity allows The Headstrong Project to stand up for veterans facing invisible wounds by delivering life-changing, cost-free trauma-focused mental health care when they need it most.”

Giving Overview
Youth
The birth of Pete and Haley’s son in 2025 sparked a new mission for our foundation. Learning that 50% of U.S. families cannot afford a consistent supply of diapers was a call to action we couldn’t ignore. We immediately partnered with seven diaper banks to provide immediate relief, but the need remains vast. We are committed to continuing and expanding this vital support throughout 2026 and beyond.
Our grantees included:
The Spring
“While families are in our care, we want them to be able to focus on getting back on their feet without the added stress of worrying about essential items for their babies. Support from community partners like the Alonso Foundation makes such a meaningful difference, allowing us to care for families in a way that alleviates their suffering, promotes dignity and instills self sufficiency as our mission intended.”
- Metropolitan Ministries of Tampa
“Your phone call to tell me the Alonso Foundation wanted to donate diapers to Sweet Beginnings Diaper Bank was such a wonderful surprise. We serve over 300 infants and toddlers every month with clean dry diapers and wipes. We are 100 % volunteer run and rely on donations from the community and small grants to be able to do this. During the month of November due to the government shut down we provided an additional 20 diapers to each of our families, which depletes our inventory quickly. The Alonso Foundations gift provided over 13 thousand diapers and wipes to help carry us into the New Year. There are 300 babies who ended the year with clean dry diapers because of your kindness and generosity”.
- Sweet Beginnings
“We can’t express our thankfulness and gratitude for what The Alonso Foundation donation of diapers and wipes mean to us!!! The poverty level in McDowell Co is one of the highest in the nation, and it was made worse after the major flooding of February 2025, one of the worst recorded in our county. Less than a week after your timely support and donations of the diapers and wipes, we were able to help a family in an emergency situation needing size 6 diapers and wipes for their special needs child. Without your support we may not have been able to help!!!”

Work in the
Community
Outside of our grant work, The Alonso Foundation was proud to once again partner with The Mets Foundation on a Back to School event bringing school supplies to hundreds of children who otherwise wouldn’t have access.
Looking Ahead
Our Vision for 2026
While we celebrate the vast impact made this past year, we remain grounded in the reality of the challenges still ahead. There are still animals in high-kill shelters, veterans who need our gratitude in action, and families facing diaper insecurity.
In 2026, we want to be there for the organizations that need us most both in Baltimore and the country. To us, this foundation is more than a project—it is our legacy. Our true heart is to leave this world a better place than we found it, changing lives one dog, one veteran, or one family at a time.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in 2025 and to those who continue to stand with us.
We simply could not
do it without you.
Start where you are.
Use what you have.
Do what you can.”
